Our latest Ofsted report:
They came, they saw, they were impressed!
On 9th February 2017 Penryn College was visited by Ofsted, five years after the last inspection. Yesterday their report was officially released confirming that our school continues to be a ‘good’ school and that we have definitely improved.

The inspection found that ‘pupils in all years make strong progress in English and mathematics and across a wide range of subjects’.  They particularly praised the strong progress of both our most able students and those with special needs, the impressive achievement of boys and the way disadvantaged pupils now do so well at school.

We were delighted they saw ‘so many pupils and teachers smiling and clearly enjoying themselves in lessons’. Importantly, the inspectors noted that “ensuring that pupils are safe and well looked after is at the heart of everything the school does.”  This is something we are proud to see acknowledged.

In his letter to parents Paul Walker writes:

"Thank you to all of you who completed the Ofsted Parent View online. Your comments helped the inspectors form an accurate and very positive impression of the school. You will also be pleased to know that, as usual, our students were an absolute credit to you all."

"Thank you for your continued support; it is invaluable. We always welcome your feedback on any aspect of the school. Please don’t feel you have to wait until the next Ofsted inspection! We move on now, pleased that the efforts of staff, pupils, parents and governors have been recognised, and excited about the challenges that lie ahead."

Immunisation Programme

The immunisation programme on Friday 3rd March went very well and almost all those children who elected to be immunised were seen.

As always with these things though, there were one or two students who wanted to be immunised but who missed this opportunity.  As a

result, the immunisation team will be revisiting the college on Wednesday 22nd March to catch up with those students who were missed.

Everyone loved our Cornish themed week!
Our Cornish themed week was fun and fantastic! Both staff and students had a great time taking part in the various activities across the week leading up to St Piran's Day. The staff judges of our student pasty competition had a particularly good time - as you can tell from the remains of this pasty, which they chose as the winner!
