Jaden Crockford snapped catching up on a class bit of extreme reading - this pic got into the top ten of our annual Year 7 Extreme Reading Competition. Mrs Pointon, English teacher and reading addict, said, 'Some funny, entertaining and breath-taking entries this year - it was tough to decide the winners!'
First prize to Ava Marston, Runner Up Zak Clemens, 3rd prize to Nancy Roberts. In the top ten were also entries by: Jaden Crockford, Ira Brett, Hugo Allen, Charlotte Attoe, Jay Meyer, Millie Tomkins and Roseanna Benney. See all winning entries on our website soon!

Year 11 Post-16 Pathways Day There were no lessons for Year 11 this Monday - instead they met staff from six local colleges and got to grips with options and directions for next year. We do all we can to help them make this next important decision!
Year 11 Graduation Evening
Tonight we say a proper goodbye to the class of 2016 who are invited with their parents for a drinks reception and to receive GCSE certificates. Certificates and special awards are to be presented by Professor Geoff Smith Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Falmouth University, Mark Snowdon Mayor of Penryn, by Deputy Heads Mrs Shouten and Mr Walker, and by Headteacher Mrs Hunter. Our shoebox appeal was a great success
Mrs Lines writes: We delivered 45 shoeboxes this year. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to or created a whole shoebox and to those who gave more than one. It was the most we have sent in recent years and the area collector was truly impressed by your efforts. Thanks for your support!!

Sports Fixtures Rugby: Year 7/8/10s away to Penrice; Year 9 away to Truro School (National Cup) Football: Year 11s play Devonport in Round 4 on Thursday while the Y7 boys take part in the Indoor 5-a-side competition on Friday Badminton: Penryn also have four teams taking part in the County Schools Team Badminton competition today, with boys and girls teams entered in both KS3 and KS4 age groups
Penryn College played Millfield School at home on Thursday in the 3rd round of the National Schools Competition. The final score was Penryn 45 Millfield 39!
Penryn College U12’s Netball team played Cwyn Rhmni School from Wales. It was a close game but the Penryn girls fantastic team play secured the win 24-20.
The U16 County Netball Tournament was held at Penryn College on Saturday. The team won all 5 games in their group and went on to win their quarter final against Wadebridge. They just missed out on a place in the Regionals losing to Penair School 6-7 in the last 5 seconds of the game!
Penryn's best ever collective set of results in the National Cup finally suffered a hiccup last week, with both the Y8s and Y10s losing to very good sides from Devonport High School For Boys in Round 4. However, Y9s beat Plymstock and now face Paignton in Round 5, the last 64 of the competition!

Any parent requiring a replacement bus pass (where the pass has been issued by Cornwall Council), must pay by debit/credit card (phoning 0300 1234 222 and asking for the Passenger Transport Unit), or send a cheque or postal order (NOT cash) to The Passenger Transport Unit, Cornwall Council, Pydar House, Pydar Street, Truro, TR1 1EA.
