Jaden Crockford snapped catching up on a class bit of extreme reading - this pic got into the top ten of our annual Year 7 Extreme Reading Competition. Mrs Pointon, English teacher and reading addict, said, 'Some funny, entertaining and breath-taking entries this year - it was tough to decide the winners!'
First prize to Ava Marston, Runner Up Zak Clemens, 3rd prize to Nancy Roberts. In the top ten were also entries by: Jaden Crockford, Ira Brett, Hugo Allen, Charlotte Attoe, Jay Meyer, Millie Tomkins and Roseanna Benney. See all winning entries on our website soon!

Our shoebox appeal was a great success

Mrs Lines writes: We delivered 45 shoeboxes this year. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to or created a whole shoebox and to those who gave more than one. It was the most we have sent in recent years and the area collector was truly impressed by your efforts. Thanks for your support!!

Penryn College played Millfield School at home on Thursday in the 3rd round of the National Schools Competition.  The final score was Penryn 45 Millfield 39!

Penryn College U12’s Netball team played Cwyn Rhmni School from Wales. It was a close game but the Penryn girls fantastic team play secured the win 24-20.

The U16 County  Netball Tournament was held at Penryn College on Saturday. The team won all 5 games in their group and went on to win their quarter final against Wadebridge. They just missed out on a place in the Regionals losing to Penair School 6-7 in the last 5 seconds of the game!

Penryn's best ever collective set of results in the National Cup finally suffered a hiccup last week, with both the Y8s and Y10s losing to very good sides from Devonport High School For Boys in Round 4. However,  Y9s  beat Plymstock and now face Paignton in Round 5, the last 64 of the competition!

Years 7,8,10 all beat Falmouth last week!!
