Saint Michael and the Dragon
Brave and true will I be,
Each good deed sets me free,
Each kind word makes me strong.
I will fight for the right!
I will conquer the wrong!

Sword of Michael brightly gleaming,
Down to earth its light is streaming,
May we see its shining rays
In the Winter’s darkest days.

Grade 2 Gardening - Snail Party

UPDATES & REMINDERS

School Grounds After School If your child is playing on the school grounds after school they must be actively supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. Please also be aware that the Grade 1 yard and the Grade 2/3 yard are closed after school. Thank you for your support in this.

Parking Etiquette and Policy Please familiarize yourself with the Parking Guidelines on page 12 of our Parent Handbook. We have had a visit from a community police officer expressing concern regarding vehicles parked in fire zones, double parking on the street in the no parking zone, as well as disregard for the crosswalk leading from the curb to our school entrance.

Dress Code Update - Since the Grade School needs to act as a community, and specifically a harmonious community, it is important that we all refresh ourselves with, and actively uphold, the dress code. While one may not personally agree with each point under the code, your support is needed to help demonstrate what it means at this school to be "living in community." As an update, for Grade Seven and Grade Eight only, the following addition has been made to the dress code:
  • Hair highlights and fringes, as long as they are of a naturally occurring colour and natural in appearance, are allowed.
If your younger child (Grade 1-6) presently has dyed fringes or highlights, your class teacher has been asked to bring this to your attention as part of the November parent conferences. Thank you.

Scents on Campus - Due to environmental sensitivities and allergies in our community we ask that you please refrain from wearing perfumes (both synthetic and natural) on campus at the Early Childhood Centre, and both the Grade School and High School.

NOTES

Where was the Weekly Current last week? Due to a family trip to the ER on Friday afternoon, I was not able to get a bulletin out to you. I'm sorry! However, the Current is back this week with gusto! I hope you're able to read through the full publication and check out all the links. If this is a new subscription for you, previous issues can be found on our website.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
