Rep. Dave Considine Responds to State of the State Address

Madison – Today, Governor Walker delivered his 2017 State of the State address to the legislature. Rep. Dave Considine (D-Baraboo) issued the following statement in response:

“I appreciate hearing so much from the Governor and my Republican colleagues about working together this coming session. We need to put aside our political differences and start implementing long-term solutions to the problems our state faces.

“Transportation infrastructure, education funding (particularly for our rural public schools), and balancing environmental protections with our vibrant agricultural economy – we have acknowledged these issues for years without taking any action. My constituents want us to stop pushing personal and party agendas. They need us to get to work, and I agree.

“I am ready to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to better support our hardworking educators, finally fix our roads, and revitalize our state. I hope Governor Walker and Republican leaders in our legislature will follow through on their language to do the same.”
