Get out there and enjoy the new shared path!

It's great having the Mackays to Peka Peka Expressway open!
Did you know the 16km of shared pathway alongside the Expressway is able to be used as well? Cyclists, pedestrians and horse riders in some places can make the most of our late summer and get out there. There's still minor works happening along the route, and you also need to cross roads in some places, so please keep alert and stay safe!

We want your feedback on the Public Places Bylaw review

Got a spare moment this week? We're reviewing our Public Places Bylaw and want your feedback! This bylaw is all about what rules we have that ensure people’s safety, well being and enjoyment in our public places - this could be anything from trading in public places, the placement of temporary posters, where street performances can take place, info about using bikes, scooters and skateboards, overhanging shrubs and trees, and what’s not allowed in our reserves.

Māoriland Film Festival coming in March

The annual Māoriland Film Festival 2017 is filled to the brim with some of the hottest indigenous films on the planet. The programme includes multi-award winning features, documentaries and short films, two of which were nominated for Oscars. These works will all be presented in Ōtaki as part of the 4th Māoriland Film Festival from 15 to 19 March. We provide some financial support for the festival through the Kāpiti Major Events Fund.
